We’re committed to Experiential Learning, and we’re invested in doing it right for every student. Our Office of Experiential Learning ensures access to challenging and engaging experiential programs. At UGA, Experiential Learning is designed to deliver impact – for our communities, and above all, for our students. Experiential Learning can elevate a student’s trajectory, enhance competencies and enable opportunities, now and for years to come – that’s why it’s a (required) part of every UGA degree.
Experiential Learning at UGA is categorized into the following six areas:
CreativeGraduates who fulfill the requirement throughcreative experiences will have |

GlobalGraduates who fulfill the requirement through study abroad or field study will interact with a culture and/or region distinct from their own and engage in academic inquiry and application afforded by the specific off-campus setting. |

InternshipGraduates who fulfill the requirement through an internship will have practiced skills or methods related to their field of study through supervised work in a professional or organizational setting. |
|
LeadershipGraduates who fulfill the requirement through leadership experiences will have articulated, implemented, and reflected on a substantive application of their academic foundations to a real-world setting and/or challenge. |

ResearchGraduates who fulfill the requirement by doing undergraduate research will demonstrate and describe how systematic and in-depth inquiry into a problem contributes to the discovery or interpretation of knowledge significant to their field of study. |

ServiceGraduates who fulfill the requirement through service-learning will demonstrate the ability to identify a community need and strategies for addressing it through mutual learning, critical analysis, reflection, and collaboration with a community partner. |
