Give me a Brake! UGA students in IDEA4000 and the UGA Student Industry Fellows Program had a unique opportunity to hear from the Performance Marketing team at Chick-fil-A Restaurants-fil-A Inc. about the recent opening of The Brake Room in NYC. The Brake Room opened on Third Avenue from February 16 – April 13 as a place for the food delivery community to warm-up, rest, and recharge between deliveries. Students had a chance to learn firsthand about the planning process, successes, and lessons-learned from this real world application of human-centered design.

The Georgia Bulldogs have an excellent reputation for putting golfers into the Masters Tournament, but did you know that a number of UGA students were behind the scenes at Augusta National during last week’s Tournament? This year, three groups of students from the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business, University of Georgia Hospitality & Food Industry Management and the UGA Student Industry Fellows Program gained the ultimate experiential learning opportunity as they received practical training before the Tournament and learned application skills throughout the week. Some of the projects our students worked on included supply chain consulting, data collection, merchandising and various functions of the hospitality field.
