EL Internship Program (ELIP)

Do you have an internship that aligns with your major and would like to see if it can meet your EL requirement?

The EL Internship Program is an approved EL non-credit activity that when successfully completed enables students to meet their Experiential Learning graduation requirement. Internships empower students to explore their career interests, develop a work history, demonstrate a marketable skill set, and build a professional network where they acquire valuable references. The EL Internship Program provides a framework so students can recognize the critical skills and competencies they are gaining during their work experience. Approved internships provide students with practical and applied opportunities that enable them to gain valuable hands-on experience, connect their academic foundations to experiences beyond the classroom, and develop effective time management, communication, and creative problem solving skills.

The EL Internship Program requires an application process and once accepted to the program consists of six modules on eLC. The modules include assignments, videos, and critical reflections that enable the student to identify skills and competencies desired by employers, while reflecting on those skills throughout the internship experience. In addition to the modules on eLC, the intern will receive regular feedback and have an exit interview with their site supervisor.
