Career goals: To work with children and provide care in order to help them learn and understand the world better. In five years I hope to be finishing Audiology school with my Au.D. degree. I will be helping children treat their Auditory Processing Disorders while opening my own private practice in order to better distribute hearing aids to all people.
Class of 2022
Rachel interned at Little Listeners, a clinic specializing in treating hearing and auditory problems in children. Rachel's internship was completed in conjunction with the EL Internship Program.
"While interning at Little Listeners I gained hands-on experience in the audiology field and participated in helping young children learn to listen better. I determined that audiology fulfilled my career goals as I became more passionate about the field each day."
"Before I began interning at Little Listeners, I was unsure of my career path, but now I feel confident in my decision to pursue audiology. I have gained hands-on experience with patients, while also being fully immersed in client evaluations and therapy processes.
I improved my skills in Digital Technology by learning about Excel and also learned to use the audiometer to conduct hearing evaluations. I received invaluable experience in dealing with kids in a real work environment.
The insight received while working at Little Listeners has given me more confidence in applying to graduate schools and has better prepared me for my future in audiology."
