Kayla participated in the Grady DC Field Study and Internship Program, where she spent a summer studying and working as a press intern for a Congressman.
"Getting to spend this summer working in Washington, DC, as a press intern for a Congressman prepared me to begin my career in the communications field after I graduate. It was truly one of the most incredible experiences and was invaluable in my efforts to achieve my future career goals"
"During my time in DC, I worked full-time for Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09), as well as taking a class led by Professor Joe Watson. This experience was greatly beneficial to my career aspirations, and I learned many valuable skills that will assist me as I continue my education and pursue a career in political communications.
I had the opportunity to network with many different UGA alumni who are currently working in a variety of positions in DC. Every person I met with offered me invaluable advice and insight about what it is like to live and work in Washington, DC. I will never forget getting to walk past the Supreme Court building and into the Capitol every morning for work. It was one of the most incredible experiences I have had so far."
