Ethan spent a semester studying and interning in a congressional office in Washington, DC.
"My time in the Washington Semester Program showed me new career avenues, satisfied a personal passion of mine, and spurred me to become more independent. The whole future is ahead of me now, but I will remember WSP as my turning point. It gave me the social, career, academic, and personal resources that I need to flourish."
"WSP gave me an outlet to involve myself in a longtime personal interest of mine: Politics! Going into WSP, my goal was to intern for a progressive Black Congressperson, and I ended up interning in the Office of Congressman Sanford Bishop. I had the opportunity to watch the inner workings of a Congressional office as we considered supporting legislative bills and offered constituent services to the people of Southwest Georgia.
I also had the chance to attend Congressional hearings and briefings on a variety of interesting topics including the legacy of the Black Panthers, organizing for a just transition to clean energy, and maintaining ocean health. It was an all-around great experience."
