Cherie interned with the Special Olympics and worked at their International Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

"I expected to gain valuable skills and knowledge that I could bring back to Athens to develop our program. What I did not expect was to love working for the international team and headquarters as much as I have. This internship was eye-opening to many jobs that I had never considered before but now know that I will pursue after graduation."

"I was interested in interning for Special Olympics because of my previous experience of being on thecommittee and executive board for Special Olympics at UGA. One of the most captivating aspects of this internship was that there were desired skills that I felt very comfortable and strong with and others that I knew needed improvement. During my internship, my leadership and project management skills grew tremendously, as well as my technological skills, and I now feel comfortable to apply them to a future career."
