Kay S. Stanton joined the Office of Experiential Learning in 2016. She has been heavily involved in the implementation of the EL initiative and is a general repository of EL info. Kay works closely with faculty and staff on the development of EL courses and non-credit activity proposals and is helping drive the implementation of the CLR.. She also regularly presents on the experiential learning initiative locally, regionally, and nationally. She has oversight of office operations including experiential learning policy and management, internal program development strategy, and management of university-wide data and reporting. She also works closely with the director in multi-year strategic planning, assessment, marketing, fund stewardship, and public affairs initiatives that support the office’s mission to “empower every student to apply their learning in real-world contexts, equipping them with the competencies and expanded perspectives to thrive in an emerging, dynamic global society.”

Kay earned a BA in art and biology from Berry College and a Master’s degree in historic preservation from UGA in 2003. Since 2000, she has worked in several roles across campus, including student support, grant writing, and public relations.

When not at work, Kay moonlights as a trapeze instructor at Canopy Studios. She also plays in various bands, regularly touring the US and beyond. If there is any time left in the day, she tries to keep up with painting or more likely hangs out with her husband and multiple cats.
