As the Director of University Experiential Learning, Andrew champions experiential
learning at the University of Georgia, articulating a vision to various stakeholders
within the university as well as community and industry partners. He is responsible
for identifying and developing innovative ways to advance experiential learning, which
includes further integrating experiential learning within the academic curriculum,
fostering collaboration between academic units in various schools and colleges as
well as local/regional community and industry partners and developing new experiential
learning opportunities for students.
Kay S. Stanton joined the Office of Experiential Learning in 2016 as the Senior Coordinator
of Experiential Learning Program. She has been heavily involved in the implementation
of the EL initiative and is a general repository of EL info. Kay works closely with
faculty and staff on the development of EL courses and non-credit activity proposals
and heads up the data crunching and pretty graph making side of the office. She also
conducts informational presentations and training workshops on the experiential learning
initiative, requirement, transcript, and the EnGAge software platform for faculty,
staff and students.
Amy Sweet began working in the Office of Experiential Learning as a Graduate Assistant,
managing the Student Industry Fellows Program (SIFP), supporting outreach and development
with industry, nonprofit, and government sector partners. In her current role, Amy
leads the department’s overall business development efforts to create and expand experiential
opportunities for students.
Annelise Norman joined the Office of Experiential Learning in June 2022 as the Scholarships
& Public Relations Coordinator. Annelise is heavily involved with EL scholarship administration
and public affairs.
Devin Maitra joined the Office of Experiential Learning in August 2022 as the first
Operations Coordinator. Devin helps maintaining the EL ambassador program and the
online ACES platform for EL. Devin earned a BA in psychology from UGA. Before becoming
the operations coordinator, he was already one of the first EL ambassadors since 2020,
helping to improve the EL brand across campus. He used to participate in competitive
E-sports tournaments, and even worked in production for some big E-sports events.
Nelson Millán Nales joined the Experiential Team as a Graduate Assistant. He is working
to develop and manage the Student Industry Fellows Program (SIFP), an initiative within
the UGA Innovation District. Nelson works on the marketing and promotion of the SIFP,
program enrollment, and event planning while supporting outreach and development with
industry, nonprofit, and government sector partners.
Laurynn Scurlock joined the Experiential Team in the Summer of 2022 as the Experiential
Learning Programs Intern for the 2022-23 academic year. She works closely with office
leadership to expand brand awareness, outreach, and growth. She currently aides in
the management of both the Experiential Learning Ambassadors program and the social
media for the Experiential Learning office.
