Hometown: Tucker, GA

Majors: Double Dawg: BS Environmental Health Science & Master of Public Health

College: College of Public Health

Career goals: As an aspiring physician, I want to make sure healthcare is at the forefront of sustainability. I want to research and promote new sustainable practices in medicine that decrease the environmental footprint of treatments.

Class of 2020

Harris spearheaded the Sustainability in Healthcare Initiative at UGA before interning with the Office of Sustainability.  He also completed a Public Health Study Abroad in Croatia and a CURO Research Assistantship.

"I have gained so much from being a part of the OOS - from the people I have met to the things I have learned to my own professional development, it is no doubt the best experience throughout my time at UGA. I will always remember it as what started my drive to be the physician that I want to be."

"My Sustainable Healthcare Initiative/Internship was my most enriching and fruitful experience, and one that has shaped my career aspirations. My desire to pursue medicine lies in providing a holistic and complete level of service. This means practicing medicine that extends beyond just treatment and takes into account social and environmental determinants of health. My strong sense of environmental awareness in healthcare stems from a humanitarian perspective, a strong sense of ethics, and a desire for social justice."
