Dario completed a CURO Research Assistantship, for which he created a smartphone app and online database for Bio-information at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.

“This experience allowed me to solve a real-world problem very close to home. Throughout the project I strengthened my technical, project management, and communication skills, which have, in turn, developed my professional career and portfolio."

"Over the past years I have become more and more interested in sustainability and clean energy. As an engineer the main objective is to develop solutions to complex problems, and one of the areas I researched in preparation for this EL experience was the use of technology in horticulture, which led me to the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.

One of my main goals was to provide an online database where anyone could share the bio-information that would serve to increase the digital footprint of the garden, allowing it to become a learning space for not only students at the University but also for the Athens community. This will also foster a deeper understanding of the environmental issues that affect agriculture here in Georgia."
