Nelson Millán Nales


Nelson Millán Nales joined the Experiential Team as a Graduate Assistant. He is working to develop and manage the Student Industry Fellows Program (SIFP), an initiative within the UGA Innovation District. Nelson works on the marketing and promotion of the SIFP, program enrollment, and event planning while supporting outreach and development with industry, nonprofit, and government sector partners. 

Nelson is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Administration. He previously worked as a Program Specialist in the International Business Programs Office at Terry College of Business. He helped pioneer the department’s inaugural Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Program with the University of Liverpool, and the inaugural domestic field study program, Global Georgia.  

Although born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Nelson considers Austin, Texas, his hometown, the most extended place he’s ever lived, where he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, with a focus on modernist literature, and a minor in Government & International Political Economy. Nelson is an active community member, serving on the Georgia Association for International Educators (GAIE) leadership board.  He also serves on the Steering Committee of the School of Public & International Affairs, Graduate Student Association (SPIA GSA).  

Nelson enjoys playing the Cello, traveling, reading, and trying out new recipes in his spare time. He is native bilingual in English & Spanish and working towards fluency in French.
