Claire Foe Portugal

This photo was taken outside the Sé do Porto, which is one of the most important and historic landmarks in Porto, Portugal. In the image was a grassy area with flowers, bushes, and a glimpse of the city’s skyline. A large yellow building stands to the left, and in the distance I can see the tall Clérigos Tower rising above the city. One detail that stood out to me is the man lying on the grass, relaxing in the sunlight. He was actually the reason I stopped and felt inspired to take pictures. The sky is bright and blue, and the whole scene feels calm and peaceful. After spending time learning about the cathedral’s history, this area outside the cathedral felt like a quiet place to pause. The Sé Cathedral is one of the oldest buildings in the city and has been an important part of Porto for many centuries. The park-like space shows how people today still use these historic areas in their daily lives and how they are interwoven into the city. This image represents the impact of the trip because it shows how history and everyday life exist together in Porto. It reminded me that even in places full of history, there are still simple moments of rest and enjoyment.
