Ari Weber – Greece

Part of the Greek culture, we found, was taking care of stray cats. We met one woman who had over twenty cats, letting them roam freely around the Acropolis area. In other parts of the city, we found bowls of food and water on the street and in public places for stray cats. During our group lunch at the seaside café, the cats were so friendly that they would even sit in people’s laps. This shows the hospitable aspect of Greek culture that is often overlooked, and the friendliness that we found in almost every stranger.
