The Farewell dinner was such an important and meaningful part of our trip because it brought everything we learned in Greece together. We all gathered together and learned to dance, and enjoy traditional food. These pictures of us show us dancing all together. That is what studying abroad is about, learning and engaging in different cultures and using those experiences to create friendships and lasting memories. Us dancing as a big group represents the happiness and joy we all collectively shared while learning about someone else’s culture and traditions. Learning about Greek culture was such a big part of why we studied abroad and these pictures encapsulates what we learned and how much we enjoyed it.
Studying abroad is much more than just visiting a new place but about immersing yourself in a new culture and using those experiences to build friendships and memories. Which is exactly what we did while dancing. Dancing with all my new friends at the farewell dinner really helped solidify what it meant to study abroad. Activities like this and making new friends and immersing in new cultures is exactly why like I, and so many people wish to study abroad.
