EL Summit

Experiential Learning & the World of Tomorrow

Our top priority in these uncertain times remains the health, safety and wellbeing of all members of our campus community. In keeping with directives from the state and federal government to suspend large events and promote social distancing, we have been instructed by the University System of Georgia that all public events for the remainder of the Spring semester have been canceled.

As a result, the “EL@UGA Summit and Pre-Conference Workshops”, scheduled for April 13-15 in Athens, have been canceled.  In support of our community of attendees, speakers, and sponsors, we will be refunding the full amount of registration and/or sponsorship fees.  We expect these refunds to process no later than Tuesday, March 31.

I want to thank our sponsors, Williams Industrial Services Group and KBH Industrial, for their visionary support of experiential learning.  Additionally, I want to thank our Pre-Conference Program Partner, the National Society for Experiential Education, for their leadership in this area.  Lastly, to all our talented speakers and attendees, we look forward to regathering in the Spring of 2021.

While we share your disappointment, our commitment to the safety and well-being of our local community, and the communities that our Summit attendees represent, is of the utmost importance. We will keep you apprised of developments and dates for the 2021 Summit, but please reach out to me if you have questions or concerns.

Monday, April 13 – Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the University of Georgia

Join thought leaders from higher education, industry, government, and K12 to explore how experiential learning can help all students build their future and change their world.

Explore emerging practices through our signature Innovation Sessions; Actively Engage in Lab Sessions designed for attendees to collaborate on Institutionalization of Practice; and Network with colleagues, speakers, and new friends.

Hosted by the Office of University Experiential Learning, the conference will be held on the beautiful and historic campus of the University of Georgia in Athens.  The conference intends to be a place of active engagement around areas of experiential education including High Impact Practices, Social Emotional Learning, Competency Based Education; and the application of best practices in Emerging Technology and Pedagogy.
