Experiential Learning Scholarships

The Office of Experiential Learning is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of scholarships to support experiential learning activities. Activities must be on the approved list of any college to be considered for funding.

Application Deadlines:

  • Maymester/Summer, 2017, funding applications are due Friday, January 20; recipients will be notified in the week of February 6.
  • Maymester/Summer/Fall, 2017, funding applications are due Friday, March 3; recipients will be notified in the week of April 3.

Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities

CURO offers students the opportunity to engage in faculty-mentored research regardless of discipline, major or GPA at any point in their undergraduate career. Students can earn research credit through CURO in 90 different course prefixes from 10
schools and colleges.

Office of Service-Learning

Service-learning at the University of Georgia is the application of academic skills and knowledge to address a community need, issue, or problem and to enhance student learning. During 2013-14 academic year, 182 unique service-learning enhanced
courses were taught at UGA, and 377 course sections with service-learning were offered.

Office of International Education

UGA offers a variety of experiential learning opportunities abroad in English and other languages: study or conduct research abroad, volunteer, intern and more. With more than 50 academic exchanges with premier partner universities overseas
and more than 100 programs ranging in length from 2 to 52 weeks and led by UGA faculty on all seven continents, there are many options to choose from. In addition, UGA has three year-round residential sites for study abroad in San Luis, Costa
Rica, Oxford, England, and Cortona, Italy.
